The words you choose to describe yourself can paint a pretty vivid picture for your reader. Self-starter, professional, team-player, forward-thinking – who isn’t? While these overused descriptions can work when used sparingly, they can also communicate very little. Plus, no one wants their CV, cover letter or LinkedIn profile to come across like a souped-up boy racer, spitting out enough empty adjectives and inflated jargon to drive away a potential employer.
