Inside the Company

Boyle&Perks was founded in 2010 in London by Bill Boyle and Elaine Perks. Combined the pair have over 20 years of design experience. Now based in Brighton, the elevated bright studio has views of the rolling Downs on the horizon and is a short walk from the train station and the Lanes.

The team enjoy creating imagery in-house, and have a small photographic area. There is also a materials library that contains a wealth of samples, collected ephemera and a selection of inspirational books.

The studio is purposefully small, a full-time team of four (plus Alma the studio dog). They partner with the best developers, writers, illustrators and animators when needed, giving them the ability to work and deliver on a wide variety of projects.

Mission and Values

The studio believes in strong ideas and clear thinking, and is always looking to take on projects that connect and inspire the team – especially those where visible differences are being made.

Boyle&Perks’ ethos is that great work comes from a deep understanding. It’s important to take the time to listen, ask questions and fully understand the client’s objectives and audience. The studio always aims to become an integrated part of the client’s team. This collaborative process builds long-lasting relationships and trust.

Culture and Benefits

There’s no top-heavy hierarchy at Boyle&Perks. There is a flat structure so that everyone can get involved, and team members can work alone and collectively on projects. Newcomers will learn how to design, produce and manage all at the same time.

The team expands for specific projects, which means exposure to different disciplines, working with developers, illustrators, animators and copywriters.

The team is actively encouraged to continue their learning journey with short courses of their choice. Opportunities to attend international design conferences and events are open to all.

The studio also enjoys sampling Brighton’s culinary delights with regular lunches out together.
