While London remains a hub for art, culture and innovation, the creative industries are thriving all over the UK, with clusters emerging in various regions and changes to typical ways of working. From Cardiff’s booming film and TV scene to Manchester’s evolving tech industry, working outside of the capital can also come with lower costs of living and easier commutes. While it may not seem like the first place to search for a creative job, GOV.UK’s Find a Job platform actually offers an extensive list of full-time, part-time and freelance roles in different regions and sectors. Simply type “Creative”, or a specific discipline such as “Design” and “Publishing” in the search field, along with the location you’re searching for a job in, and you’ll get a whole list of opportunities across the UK.

15. The Guardian Jobs

Drawing on their broad readership and audience base, The Guardian Jobs lists vacancies in a wide array of sectors and regions, but you can easily customise your search by putting in your industry and location. If you sign up for their Jobs by Email service, you’ll get up to ten matching roles sent to you every day, and if you upload your CV to their platform, you can opt in for Jobmatch – a feature that allows recruiters to contact you with vacancies that match your preferences.
