We’ve collated enough creative talks and panels to give you square eyes
There have been some amazing initiatives and free resources made available to creatives during this time. Eagle-eyed readers will recall our recent article showcasing some of the portfolio reviews, tips and chat forums you can’t afford to miss. This week, we wanted to highlight some useful and interesting talks that we’ve been enjoying over at Lecture in Progress. From panel discussions, to Q&As – there’s a number of ways to get involved and continue learning from your favourite speakers and creatives. These are a few of our picks.
Sarabande Foundation: Sarabande Sessions
Every day at 5pm, Sarabande Foundation, the organisation founded by the late Alexander McQueen has committed to live-streaming talks on Instagram with creatives spanning the fashion, art and design world. Guests include Tim Walker, Molly Goddard, costume designer Colleen Atwood, the fashion editor at The Financial Times, and actor Eddie Redmayne amongst many others.

Also using Instagram is Live!, a series of talks focused on the creative industry. Guests have included Anthony Burrill and our sister company Anyways’ very own senior creative Charlie Sheppard. Each episode promises to combat boredom and instil hope. With a stellar lineup and interesting topics to dissect, get ready to tune in with more talks lined up this week.

The New York Times: Smarter Living Zoom Chat
The New York Time’s Smarter Living column has curated a live chat with a panel of expert guests. The idea is to answer any questions you may have about working from home efficiently, financial worries and how to reduce stress during this time.

TED Talks
We’re no strangers to TED Talks – the initiative has provided a platform for some of the best minds in the world to educate us over the course of 18 minutes. A recent favourite episode of ours is Bill Gate’s talk on how we should be combating the current global pandemic, and author Priya Parker’s discussion around how we can create meaningful connections whilst apart.

Nicer Tuesdays
Run by our sister company It’s Nice That, Nicer Tuesdays normally commences on the last Tuesday of every month at Oval Space. But with most of us housebound, you can still get your Nicer Tuesdays fix via YouTube. Last month’s segment saw the likes of filmmaker Ali Kurr, photographer Rinchen Ato and Studio Lowrie amongst others take to the stage. We’ve been enjoying watching these back, and we hope you do too.
