On 24 November 2016, the Design Museum relocated to Kensington, West London.
John Pawson has converted the interior of a 1960s modernist building to create a new home for the Design Museum giving it three times more space in which to show a wider range of exhibitions and significantly extend its learning programme.
The Learning team at the museum curates an extensive range of programmes for families, young people, students, researchers, adults, seniors, and communities.
The Design Museum’s mission is to build public awareness of design by connecting design with people’s lives and passions, to reflect the designer’s role at the forefront of social, technological, and environmental change, and to serve the design community.
Design is a practice, a diverse discipline, infinitely rich in approaches and characters. It is a young discipline, whose role in the world is evolving.
The Design Museum’s Learning programme aim to inspire and empower everyone to engage with design and imagine positive change through design.
The Design Museum’s Learning team is devoted to creating outstanding learning experiences for emerging talents and designers.
It collaborates with leading designers, architects, scholars, and experts across the sector to design the programme.
Alongside the talks and workshops, we offer partially and fully funded programmes to support emerging creatives from all walks of life to thrive.
We liaise with creative communities, student organisations, and Higher Education Institutions nationwide to reach aspiring creatives.
