“How do I get work?”

“Do I need an agent?”

“How do I price a job?”

If you’ve ever had any questions relating to illustration and didn’t know who to ask, we’ve assembled a panel of experts for one night and you can ask them anything!

At this meet-up of London illustrators (hosted by Blend), you’ll have a seat at the table with each one of our guests for 20 minutes x 4 rotations - please prepare your questions (or send us a question prior to the event)...

Our amazing guests have experience in different areas of our industry:

James Hughes AKA The Illustrator’s Guide, is a creative coach, mentor and illustration agent. WIth a forthcoming book, youtube videos, and classes, James shares his knowledge of the business of illustration and advises artists on how to jump-start their careers.

Rod Hunt is an award-winning, London-based illustrator, map designer and the artist behind the bestselling Where’s Stig? books for the BBC's hit TV show Top Gear. Rod was a former director and chairman of the Association of Illustrators, and has been working in the industry for over 20 years.

George Morton is a senior creative agent at Grand Matter – an artist representation agency that champions “meaningful creativity” – working with a variety of clients including Adidas, TFL and the New York Times. Previously he has worked in roles across branding, design, events, and advertising, as well as being a freelance illustrator himself.

Jo Spooner is the design manager at Two Hoots, PanMacmillan. She works with a broad range of authors and illustrators to develop picture books, narrative non-fiction and board books. Jo is also a Masters graduate of the Cambridge School of Art at Anglia Ruskin University, the leading course for children’s illustration in the UK.
