David Higham Associates is one of the UK’s leading agencies for authors. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and hard-working individual who loves reading and is committed to a career in the publishing industry.

You must be willing to turn your hand to a variety of tasks including reception and general office admin duties; database management; reading and reporting on submissions and manuscripts; and processing contracts. Excellent attention to detail, a willingness to learn and a sense of humour are essential. An interest in commercial and book-club fiction will also be welcome.

We pay a salary of £26,000 per annum and in exchange we expect our interns to commit for the full period of the placement, which is six months (once a probation period has been successfully completed).

This is a full-time position and is based in our central London offices, although there may be scope for working from home one day per week.

We are now inviting applications for our next internship, to begin in early October 2024 and to run until at least the beginning of April 2025.
