Perzine Workshop
Cut Out Club
In this workshop, we will explore "perzines" (from the words 'personal' and 'zine') through warm-up activities, creative prompts, and a relaxed block of time for meaningfully reflecting your thoughts, feelings, and experiences 💬
First of all, what exactly is a "perzine"?
Perzines are zines written about your own personal experiences, opinions, and observations. This could range from an interpretation of last night's dream, to a deep appreciation for a film you recently saw in the form of a mini-essay.
However you decide to interpret the theme of "perzines", what's important is that when use the wide array of provided materials to make your perzine, you share only the personal insights that you are comfortable doing so with.
You do not need any prior experience to take part (though we always do like to welcome back familiar faces!) and included with your ticket is a bespoke handmade envelope full of collage cut-outs to use on the day or take home for later.
Embrace the element of chance, make new like-minded friends, join our supportive community, and most importantly – have fun delving into the zine-making process!
Still unsure about coming along? Check this to see how one of our previous zine workshops went, or read anonymously submitted feedback here from previous participants.
Additional information: This workshop marks the end of a month-long collaboration spotlighting zines with 64 Million Artists, a social enterprise inviting everyone in the UK to explore their creative potential and use it to challenge the status quo by hosting a free year-round campaign for everyday creativity.
