Join us for a relaxed evening of panel discussions with a group of professional photographers sharing their creative journeys.
Whether you are employed full-time or juggling multiple side hustles, deciding when to make photography your primary focus and sole source of income can be challenging.
You will be hearing from a group of photographers who have dedicated themselves exclusively to photography. The panelists will be sharing their experiences in the creative sector and collective wisdom.
Panel discussion topics:
- Embracing Uncertainty: Understanding that fluctuating income and periods of low client activity are part of the journey.
- Backup Plans: Creating financial safety nets or maintaining part-time gigs during the initial phase to full-time work transition.
- Emotional Resilience: Techniques for managing stress abd staying motivated during challenging times.
- Learning from Failures: Viewing setbacks as opportunities for growth and learning how to pivot and adapt when things don't go as planned.
- Maintaining Passion: Finding ways to keep the passion for photography alive.

About the Organisers
The Photography Foundation was created to provide pathways to professional photography for less advantaged young adults in London by offering education, practical experience, and routes to a career in the creative industries. The Photography Foundation acknowledges that commercial photography can be a stressful career and feel isolating at times. Our events are intended to promote wellbeing and the importance of making time for inspiration and creativity in your practice in order to maintain a sustainable career.
Virgilia Lee Facey (she, her) is an inclusion advocate and founder of twopointzero, a purpose-led company committed to delivering social impact through innovative inclusion strategies and compelling content creation. With a keen understanding of the complexities and nuances of the advertising industry, Virgilia has carved out a niche for herself as a leader of inclusion and social equity.

• Spaces are limited, if you can no longer attend, please request a refund for your ticket at least 48 hrs before the event via Eventbrite. If you request a ticket refund in less than 2 days before the scheduled event, you will be charged the full cost of the ticket, and you will not receive a refund.
