The Scottish Landscape Awards is a biennial event open to anyone over 16 years born, living or studying in Scotland, and for works in any media – painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, all forms of sculpture, animation, textiles, photography, installation, video, multi-media, virtual reality landscapes – and more.

Works entered for the Scottish Landscape Awards may be imaginary, surreal, abstract, documentary, ecological, realistic – anything is possible as long as the work carries a strong sense of place or context. We seek works that reflect all dimensions of natural and/or synthetic environments – rural, urban, industrial, suburban, forest, mountain and seascapes, interior/exterior, minute/enlarged and more.

Works entered may be by individuals or collaborations. All members of the collaboration must be born, living or studying in Scotland.

Entry fee £12 per work.

Free entry is available for talented under-represented artists through the Scottish Arts trust Bursary Fund.

How To Apply

To be eligible you must be over 16 years and have been born or currently living or studying in Scotland. Being a frequent visitor, previous resident or previous student in Scotland does not qualify you for entry.

Our bursary scheme offers financial support to talented artists from under-represented groups. The bursaries provide for entry fees, framing, artwork delivery, and travel expenses to the preview (within the UK). Applicants experiencing low household income, discrimination, disability, a history of offending, or other challenges are eligible. We require the submission of the artwork intended for the competition as part of the application. Bursary applications are open now and close on 10 December 2024.
