So you’re curious about the world of art direction but don’t know where to start. What kind of work do art directors do? What roles are available for entry-level talent and skills might you need to work in this area? Find out on Thursday 29 February, as we seek answers from a stellar line-up of industry experts working in this field. So if you’re a UK-based creative in the first year of your career and curious about being an art director, be sure to sign up!

From senior creatives to design directors, we’re inviting 15 industry professionals to share insight into their roles, shed light on the opportunities out there and offer advice for anyone looking to follow a similar path.

Event information:
The event will take place over Zoom, and is split into two parts:

🎤 Part 1 – Panel discussion (17:00 to 18:00)
A panel discussion with a range of industry experts, covering questions on everything from the skills needed to work in art direction, to their tips on breaking into the industry.

🤝 Part 2 – Breakout rooms (18:00 to 20:00)
Select attendees will be put into breakout rooms with our pros, where you’ll get the chance to meet and ask questions directly to them. This will then rotate, so you get to meet different industry experts throughout the evening.

How To Apply

This event is open to UK-based applicants with an interest in working in the creative industry. This includes students, grads, or those within the first year of a creative career. You’re only eligible to register if you are:

• Based in the UK*
• Aged 18 and over
• And with no more than one year’s professional creative experience

While no previous experience or portfolio is necessary, we do ask that you submit a question for our industry experts when you apply, along with a short line about why you’d like to attend.

Please note: While all eligible applicants are welcome to attend the panel discussion, there are only a limited number of places available for the breakout sessions, so make sure you sign up to register your interest via the link below.

How do we select attendees for the breakout rooms? The second part of this event is only open to a selection of attendees, so registering doesn't guarantee a place for the breakout room discussions.

In line with our aim to encourage greater transparency and representation within the creative working world, we prioritise candidates from historically underrepresented backgrounds in the creative industries.

This includes (but is not limited to) applicants from ethnically diverse backgrounds; the LGBTQIA+ community; those who are neurodivergent; D/deaf, disabled or have a long-term health condition; and applicants from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Those invited to attend the breakout room sessions will be emailed a week before the event and asked to pay a £5 deposit. This is to confirm your attendance and will be fully refunded after the session.
