Grand Matter is a boutique artist agency co-founded by Ciara Phelan and Dorcas Brown. Our roster of distinctive illustrators and makers are chosen for their grand ideas and creative curiosity, and work across a wide range of projects around the world. We proactively support and nurture our artists throughout their commercial work and self-initiated projects alike.
Building great relationships with both clients and artists is important to us. We work with ambitious organisations of all shapes and sizes, from brands and start-ups to creative agencies and institutions, who want beautiful and compelling visuals to help bring their purpose to life. The visual arts are a great medium for positive change and we also actively encourage meaningful creativity through our own collaborations with artists, brands, charities and all else in between, to engage with the topics that matter to us.
We foster a flexible working culture, valuing time together in our office (London Fields) on a weekly basis as well as the flexibility to work from home. Our core hours are 10am - 6pm, however we work with clients around the world in different time zones, and so occasionally are required to attend calls outside of these hours.

At Grand Matter we work closely with our artists to nurture their portfolio and creative ambitions, also championing purposeful and meaningful projects. We’re looking for a creatively minded and proactive person to join our small team, who shares our passion and will help fulfil it on a day to day basis.
Our roster of 16 artists work across a range of multi-disciplinary practises, centred broadly around illustration. Experience of the creative industry and a great understanding of creative processes, in particular illustration, animation and set design, is essential. Knowledge of usage licensing and quoting is useful also.
Diplomacy and great written and verbal communication is central to the role, with a personable and open-minded approach. The ability to problem solve, offering solutions to both clients and artists is important, and remaining calm under pressure.
As a small company there will be the opportunity to shape the role and get involved in other aspects of the business as we grow.
What you will be doing…
Reporting to the wider team on a daily basis, you will be working closely with the artists to manage commercial projects advocating on their behalf from start to finish, and help develop their practice through support and assisting with seeking out new opportunities.
Tasks vary on a day to day basis, including:
