We are now looking for a bright and enthusiastic Junior Copywriter with excellent creative, organisational, and time-management skills, to dedicate 5 days per week to supplying compelling copywriting for MWC’s Creative team.

You will be assisting the Creative Projects Manager in the execution of marketing, branding, and communications strategies and helping to provide creative ideas and content. You will also have administrative duties in developing and implementing these strategies. This includes ideas for content, mapping out content calendars, and creating content (written and imagery/photography.)

Through this role, you will gain experience not only in marketing and communications but also within the highly interesting and varied subject matter of marine and environmental comms, which includes creating impactful advocacy campaigns, designing seafood marketing projects, and shaping organisational rebrands. You should be prepared to enter a fast-paced work environment, but you’ll be rewarded by delivering on projects with purpose and topics that matter - plus (and we may be a little biased) you’ll be working in a top-notch team.

In this role, no days are the same, but the key responsibilities include:

Assisting the Creative Projects Manager through:

  • Social media, blog, and newsletter content creation for a variety of different projects.

  • This one is key, we’re looking for someone to lead on the day-to-day management of our digital channels, creating inspirational, informative and engaging content quickly and efficiently.
  • Develop creative ideas, suggest new innovative ways of delivering digital content and keep up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends to share with the wider team.
  • Create graphics and edit photos, working with MWC’s Design Officer when necessary.
  • Maybe people call you an ideas person? You’re great at drawing connections between different topics and love communicating issues in different or creative ways.
  • Work with the Creative Projects Manager to prioritise and schedule work effectively, anticipating any problems and adjusting your week accordingly
  • Proof read when required.
  • A wide variety of marketing work to support the team with whatever the team requires – learning by doing is key.

  • Generating digital marketing ideas, conducting influencer research, social media and email marketing/scheduling, press release outreach and research, producing social media reports, SEO

  • Support the marketing and communications team in other daily administrative tasks

  • Website management (updates in WordPress, adding new pages, uploading blogs etc)

  • Brainstorming, researching and drafting and delivering on effective social media strategies

  • Assisting in the organisation of meetings and workshops: outreach, materials, research, development and other logistics

  • Attending meetings and conferences as required - here you’ll gain exposure to so many phases of marketing

  • Maintaining contact databases for stakeholders and media

  • Collecting content for grant applications including researching new or relevant topics



  • Educated to degree level, ideally in marketing or communications, or significant experience of working in a digital marketing role.

  • Energy, enthusiasm and proven experience in producing digital content

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to draw connections from different topics and ‘explain ideas in exciting ways’

  • Goal driven

  • Knowledge and experience of delivering on social media campaigns

  • Ability to handle several projects at once with attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently – including remotely

  • Experience of using social media platforms (inc. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) plus others (Tik Tok, Pinterest) are desirable

  • Experience with design platforms (i.e. Canva, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and interest in the environment


  • Experience with video editing software (i.e. Premier Pro, Animoto)

  • Google pay per clicks, paid advertising on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook

  • Experience with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Google Calendar)

  • Experience with WordPress website content editing
