We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to help run our creative venue and look after the building’s venue hire clients, tenants and visitors. The successful candidate will enjoy working with the public and take pride in helping people to enjoy their experience at Lighthouse.

The Operations & Events Assistant is the face of Lighthouse and first point of contact for anyone visiting our venue. They support the Head of Operations in the day-to-day running of our lively building, and also provide essential admin support to our office team.

As an advocate for the venue and organisation, the Operations & Events Assistant is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with current and potential venue hire clients, helping to ensure that Lighthouse is a valued hub within Brighton’s creative and digital community. They play an important role as the link between venue hire, tenants and the artistic programme, supporting our charitable objectives through operational activities that generate income through events and/or private hires.

This role is a great opportunity to be involved in the operations and administration of a busy arts venue, in a supportive and friendly working environment that is stimulating atmosphere to work and learn in.

Hours of work will be flexible in order to accommodate venue hire bookings and Lighthouse events and will sometimes involve an earlier start (8am) or later finish (11pm). Occasional weekend work will also be required. When there are no venue hires your normal hours of work will be from 9:30am to 6:00pm, Monday-Friday inclusive, during which one hour may be taken for lunch (unpaid). If any additional working hours are incurred, you will be entitled to time off
in lieu, in agreement with your line manager.
