London Transport Museum
(LTM), located in the heart of Covent Garden, tells the story of the Capital
city’s transport heritage. It is a thriving hub, celebrating London’s
fascinating past and engaging people in debate about its future.
LTM are looking for 6
Young Freelancers to support the delivery and development of activities
across the museum over the course of a year. These roles will run from Monday
28 June 2021 to Friday July 1 2022. Young Freelancers work on a project by
project basis and are paid £13.56 per hour for all briefs, and £6.78 per hour
for all training.
What is a Young Freelancer?
The Young Freelancer role is a paid role for young Londoners aged 18-25
looking to develop skills, experience and networks in the cultural sector. As
part of your role we will provide training to help you establish yourself as a
freelancer. You will then be offered different briefs and opportunities
throughout the year from teams across the museum.
The Young Freelancer role offers a flexible, alternative
and paid route into a career in the cultural sector where you can build your
experience and confidence to find the career you want while being paid, trained
Young Freelancers receive support and training from the Museum’s Young
People’s Skills Programme whilst learning on the job and a mentor from Arts
Emergency. Young Freelancers will also have the opportunity to work at other
organisations in the cultural and heritage sector, giving you opportunities to
develop a strong portfolio of experience and a great network.
What are we looking for?
The Young Freelancers programme is a development role for
young people, we do not have minimum educational or work experience requirements
but are looking for people who are:
18 – 25, wishing to learn and gain new skills
to work within a team
about museums and working in the cultural sector
to support others to be their best
