Launched in 2018, The Cause is a fully independent arts & events organisation that began life as an electronic music nightclub with a heavy focus on underground scenes, community and charitable causes.
In its short lifespan The Cause and associated events have raised over £100K for charities, played host to hundreds of promoters, thousands of DJs and been featured on prime-time ITV News, Channel 4, BBC Radio 6, The Guardian, Independent, NME, DJ mag, Mixmag and Time Out.
Our operation has expanded against all odds, both in size of the venue itself and its programming. We now have multiple event spaces for food, comedy, cabaret, live music and DJ events operating under The Cause, Costa Del Tottenham and other brands.
Despite our growth, our brand has and always will be 100% DIY, with a large focus on grass roots culture, inviting new talent to play alongside established dance music legends and cutting-edge artists. Furthermore, our open-door policy welcomes everyone equally, regardless of musical tastes, gender, race, class, age, sexual persuasion or kinks.
Our aim in 2021 is to help nurture some of the loyal community around us, raising the profile of those that have helped shape us and emerging from the pandemic with a very fresh outlook, creating positive changes for our scene wherever possible. Innovation and alternative artists alongside fresh ways to promote and market them are essential to our success.
With the increased activity, we are now looking to expand our team and are looking for an assistant booker to work across our various projects.
Our existing team has powerful connections within the electronic music scene, which will require some support, but this role will look to expand on the diversity of our programming, primarily with live music, booking bands for midweek and evening shows, as well as art, culture, talks, comedy, brunches, food and community events.
You will assist in programming our venues with a wide variety of activities, seven days a week, often with multiple different events on the same day.
We are ideally looking for candidates with experience and contacts from working in the industry before, preferably with a local or London based network. Events, promoters, acts and concepts you book will be expected to pull in between sixty and two thousand people, depending on spaces used. The large shows you will support our senior team on.
You will be required to book a broad range of events and be completely open-minded, ensuring various audiences are catered for at different times with little clashes.
