Emerging Designers Access Fund - The Design Museum

Opportunity closes: 31st March 2023
The Design Museum’s access fund gives emerging designers, who may face financial or other barriers to visiting the museum, free access to the institution’s exhibitions. Registration for the fund is open to any practicing designer who is over the age of 18 and is either in further education, higher education or within five years of leaving education or setting up a business.

Open Call for 2023 Programme – New Contemporaries

Applications for New Contemporaries 2023 are open. The organisation welcomes submissions from emerging and early-career artists who are either final year students, recent graduates or post-graduate students. Successful applicants will get their work exhibited, the opportunity to participate in an artist development programme, become eligible for New Contemporaries bursaries and residencies and more.

Future Makers: Emerging Artist Programme – Grand Matter

Future Makers is a yearly professional development programme open to illustration-based artists aged 18 and over who belong to underrepresented groups in the industry. Successful applicants will receive exclusive representation from artist agency Grand Matter, as well as guidance and support to develop their portfolios, with the aim of securing commissions.

Public Art Wall Commission – Westminster City Council

Westminster City Council is seeking artists for a public art wall commission. The total budget for the commission is £11,000 and covers professional fees, expenses, materials, installation costs and at least one artist creative design engagement workshop with a local school.

Co-Working Day – The Photography Foundation

Mentorship Scheme – The AOI

Applications are open for the Association of Illustrators’ free mentorship scheme. It’s designed for illustrators who are underrepresented in the industry as well as aspiring illustration agents. Successful applicants will have six online sessions with their mentor over three to six months. Mentees will be asked to set up three goals to achieve for the duration of the scheme.

Writers’ Award Competition – Creative Future

Officially open for entries, Creative Future’s Writers’ Award Competition is designed for underrepresented writers and will be offering twelve writers £20,000 worth of cash and development prizes, opportunity to be published and showcase your work, as well as receive ongoing development support from the Creative Future team.
